What to learn in the upcoming years?
In these past years I went from 0 to whereever I’m at right now which to me is pretty impressive, but still a little low on the average of my class.
In upcoming years I want to make the difference between me and the average way less by learning more stuff like these.
Planning my work better.
This has always been a problem to me as I’m almost always behind schedule. I can’t do that anymore. I really have to step up my game.
Ripsaw controlling.
I still get confused with this saw and the sliding table saw, which can on their turn be pretty dangerous. I just need to dive back in the books a little more and memorise the stuff I need to know. No big deal.
Better accuracy when working with my hands.
For instance, the dovetail joint, is very delicate but super strong. The dovetail joint is made by hand (there are machines that can do it but then I wouldn’t be able to use this as an example) and require a lot of precision. My joints are becoming better but it’s not quite what I want yet.
New machines and techniques.
There are so many machines and methods of woodworking that I have never used or heard any explanation about but I want to use them at least once so I know what they can do and if they might be useful later in my life. For example a water-cutter, 5-axis cutter and the method steam bending.
Caxa work drawings.
For every project we make a work drawing so we know what we’re doing. I could still try to get better at that as I’m not really the fastest so to speak.
